2022 Ford Explorer

It is a good bet that the aggressive-looking police vehicle that just passed you by (thank goodness) with its blue lights flashing is a Ford Explorer.  It probably has under its masculine hood the powerful V6 turbo that kicks out 400 horses and 415 lb-ft of asphalt grabbing torque.

The same engine that comes with the sporty ST model puts you at 60 mph in about 5 seconds. The ST badge gives you stiffer suspension, larger brakes, and AWD. The standard engine isn't no lightweight either with the 2.3-liter turbocharged engine that produces more punch and torque than its competitors' V6's and even better fuel economy.

This feisty inline-four produces 300 ponies and 310 lb-ft of “get-up and go” torque.  Standard on the higher trim Platinum is a 3.0-liter turbo V6 that is good for 365 horses and 380 lb-ft of torque. Wait, there is more. When you are visiting the friendly folks at Hixson Ford of Leesville located at 11981 Lake Charles Highway or by calling the dealership at 337.239.3434 and you will find out the Ford Explorer has a Hybrid that pairs a 3.3-liter naturally aspirated V6 to an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack and has the ability to punch out a total output of 318 horses and of course super gas economy.

All the Ford Explorer's engines offered are paired with a smooth shifting 10-speed automatic that drives the rear wheels.  For those who desire more confidence in their drive times AWD is available.  So, you have so many choices of power plants with the Explorer that will fit you style and wallet.  That said, Ford has put a priority on performance on its gutsy grocery getter along with improving the Explorer's handling and stability to make it drive like a sedan instead of a large SUV.

The engineers and designers from Ford also gave the Explorer a head turning sleek look with a sporty sloping roofline and curves in all the right places.  The interior is fitted with very comfy seats front to rear and offers captain chairs for those parents who want to keep their kiddos at arm’s length.  For your entertainment and communications desires, the Explorer comes with an 8-inch touchscreen or an available 10 inches that comes with the very user-friendly Sync3 infotainment setup.  Other strong suits is the towing capacity, vast cargo space, gobs of driver assistant safety features and the Ford Explorer is just fun to drive and especially to be seen in.

Bottom line, the Explorer covers all the bases in family-hauling from running errands to hauling your boat to your favorite lake.  Remember holiday trips are just around the corner and wouldn't it be nice to arrive in a new Ford Explorer all rested and so ready to be hugged.  Thought so.
